DKSH acquires Swiss specialty chemicals distributor
The acquisition of Staerkle & Nagler will extend DKSH\'s reach into Europe
DKSH has acquired Swiss specialty chemicals distributor Staerkle & Nagler for an undisclosed sum, a move which DKSH says will strengthen the European operations of its Business Unit Performance Materials.
The acquisition of the Swiss company and its team of distribution specialists will give DKSH access to new clients and several hundred customers in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
In return, Staerkle & Nagler will be able to benefit from DKSH’s global network, in particular its coverage of the Asia Pacific region.
Founded in 1946, Staerkle & Nagler will become part of DKSH's Business Unit Materials Performance. The company distributes a wide range of raw materials, specialty chemicals and additives. In 2011 it generated net sales of CHF20.2m.
“Those business units acquired from Staerkle & Nagler will be integrated into our significantly larger platform and successively expanded,” said Dr Joerg Wolle, president and ceo of DKSH Holding.
“Both in Europe and Asia, there are promising opportunities to strategically complement our strong organic growth through bolt-on acquisitions,” he added.
