DuPont Sontara MicroPure - keeping your cleanroom really clean
It is a known fact that a particle smaller than a human hair can disrupt cleanliness in a cleanroom, illustrating how essential thorough cleaning is to avoid contamination.
It is important that applications used in a cleanroom help and do not hinder the cleaning processes and the same applies to wipes. Wipes have been designed to help protect the products and the environment by absorbing liquids effectively, removing particles and are chemically resistant to commonly used cleaning agents. However, if not designed correctly cleanroom wipes can hinder cleaning processes. In some instances, the wipes can be a source of contamination by actually containing binders or additives or are chemically treated on the surface to reduce particle debris.
With a vast selection of cleanroom wipes available, choosing the appropriate wipe for your environment can be a difficult task; the wipes should be selected based on the cleaning requirements.
DuPont has designed a range of wipes engineered for cleanroom use. The Sontara MicroPure wipes are nonwoven fabrics that offer a combination of high particle and liquid absorbency without binders, chemicals or adhesives.
DuPont Sontara MicroPure has four products in its range that are all specifically designed for different cleanrooms including electronics, pharmaceutical, food, medical, optics, aerospace and automotive. The range includes Sontara MicroPure 100 for critical applications; Sontara MicroPure AP for demanding applications; and Sontara MicroPure SV an economical solution that is suitable for less sensitive environments; and Sontara MicroPure MOP that is specially designed for floor cleaning. All wipes are ISO 14644 compliant.
Marcelo Milani, Medical & Pharmaceutical Protection Marketing Manager at DuPont, said: 'The Sontara MicroPure range provides wipes for different requirements, whether it is a pharmaceutical environment or food environment. The benefits of the Sontara MicroPure wipes are threefold; cleanliness, absorbency and consistent quality. Cleanliness as the wipes don"t contain binders or chemical treatment; inherent absorbency because of the cellulose content and consistent quality as the wipes are exposed to rigorous quality control procedures.'
