Edwards Group, a UK manufacturer of vacuum products and abatement systems and a provider of related services, has taken a Gold Stevie Award in the 9th annual International Business Awards.
Edwards was named winner of the ‘Best New Product or Service of the Year – Industrial Products and Services’ category for its CXS dry vacuum pump.
The CXS is the latest-generation dry vacuum pump for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and since its introduction in 2011 has set new standards for reliability, performance and control.
Edwards says two elements of the CXS set it apart from competitive pumps. The novel tapered screw technology facilitates excellent liquid and solids handling leading to high operational reliability while providing deep vacuum down to 10–3mbar. In addition a range of built-in control and safety features makes the CXS easier and cheaper to install than other pumps currently on the market.
The firm claims the CXS is the first ‘plug and pump’ system, which has made vacuum on demand a reality.
Commenting on the award, Edwards’ ceo Matthew Taylor, said: ‘2012 has truly been a golden year for Edwards. After being honoured with a momentous seventh Queen’s Award earlier this year for our nEXT turbomolecular pump, and then successfully listing on the Nasdaq, we’re delighted to build on our success with a Gold Stevie Award.
‘To receive this accolade for the CXS, so soon after its launch, is testament to the hard work and expertise of all those at Edwards who were involved in its conception.’
More than 3,000 entries from 50 countries were submitted to the 2012 International Business Awards. The winners were selected in recognition of their commitment to international excellence in innovation, growth and design.
