Emerson and Huntsman sign supply agreement

Emerson Process Management and the Huntsman Group of Companies in Europe are further developing their close working relationship, following Emerson supplying Huntsman with its DeltaV digital automation systems to upgrade the control schemes on a number of Huntsman's UK plants, and other projects involving advanced intelligent instrumentation and PlantWeb services. Huntsman and Emerson also joined forces to present the annual Manufacturing Excellence conference on Teesside this year, and many of the papers presented there described projects where this collaboration had achieved significant improvements in plant operational effectiveness.

The relationship is now being extended with the signing of an agreement between the two companies, making Emerson a preferred supplier to all the Huntsman European manufacturing plants, which involve 27 locations across seven countries. The agreement was signed on 20 November at the Wilton Centre on Teesside, by Mike Whisson, purchasing director, representing the Huntsman group, and Laurence Broomhead, European president of Emerson Process Management. Also present were Steve Brown, managing director of Emerson Process Management for the UK and Ireland, Lynda Hugill, Capex buying manager of Huntsman, and David Brass, key account director for Emerson, responsible for relationships with the Huntsman group in the UK.

The 3 year agreement will allow all Huntsman group companies in Europe to purchase products from Emerson using standard prices, in Euros, to standard terms and conditions. Emerson and Huntsman will extend the agreement, as soon as possible, to include their manufacturing plants in Malaysia and South Africa.
