The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) has donated £500 to a charity established by FA Cup winner and England goalkeeper, David James to improve the living standards for some of the world's poorest people.
The David James Foundation charity was set up to create a working farm, school and sporting academy for Malawians in the south of the country.
IChemE Chief Executive, Dr David Brown said: We hope our donation will help set the ball rolling on further contributions so the people of Malawi can experience sustainable improvements in their living standards. At IChemE we're currently inviting entries for our Dhirubhai Ambani Award highlighting the best examples of outstanding chemical engineering innovation that supports people living on less than $2-a-day.
the donation is expected to go towards introducing technology that reduces pollution, supports disposal of waste or provides cleaner energy, safe water or sustainable food supplies.
