Faller Packaging is expanding capacity in order to improve service to customers in the Nordic market.
The packaging specialist is preparing to take over the building complex for a new site in Horsens, Denmark. The plan is to ultimately produce 600 million folding cartons per year.
On 19 April, Faller Packaging confirmed the development of a second site in Denmark and the acquisition of a 5,700 sqm building complex in Horsens, which officially will take place on 1 May 2023. With the new plant, the company aims to meet the rapidly growing demand for folding cartons in the Nordic countries.
In order to meet the rapidly increasing demand on the Nordic market, the folding carton specialist was happy to react.
The fact that our products are in such high demand is anything but a given
"It was clear to us that we could only handle the growing customer demand by expanding capacity and investing in another site in Denmark," said Dr Daniel Keesman, CEO of Faller Packaging.
When completed, the Horsens plant will be a highly efficient production site for folding cartons that meets all pharmaceutical packaging standards. In the third quarter of 2023, Faller Packaging plans to appoint a new site manager to run Horsens separately from the main site in Hvidovre. The packaging specialist will gradually expand the plant for production of 600 million folding cartons per year. This will increase the total capacity of the Packaging Nordics division, August Faller A/S, to more than 900 million cartons per year.
Dr Daniel Keesman commented: "The fact that our products are in such high demand is anything but a given. It reflects the tenacious commitment and reliability of our team in Hvidovre, which has resulted in excellent product quality and outstanding supply performance."
