Two new types of labels are being produced by UK printer Ditone Labels for antivenom to counteract the bite of the Nigerian Carpet Viper - one of the deadliest snakes in the world, which kills more than 1,000 people every year.
The labels for the boxes and vials are manufactured under the Pharmaceutical Codes of Practice and supplied to MicroPharm, which specialises in producing polyclonal antibodies as well as immunogen preparation and antibody purification. The labels carry vital information, including the batch and expiry date. 'This has been an unusual order - even for Ditone,' said area sales manager John Haworth.
