Galenica buys UK's leading herbal medicine company
Swiss healthcare company Galenica has acquired Potter's Herbal Medicines, the leading manufacturer and supplier of licensed herbal medicines in the UK for an undisclosed sum.
Swiss healthcare company Galenica has acquired Potter's Herbal Medicines, the leading manufacturer and supplier of licensed herbal medicines in the UK for an undisclosed sum.
Potter's is Galenica's first acquisition in the UK and will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Galenica Group. It will continue to trade under the Potter's Herbal Medicines name and the company's manufacturing and headquarters will re-main in Wigan, Lancashire. Tony Hampson will continue as managing director.
Galenica, based in Bern, is a diversified enterprise whose activities include manufacture and marketing of pharmaceutical products, managing pharmacies, as well as logistical services such as pre-wholesaling and distribution, databases and networking.

'Our customers will benefit hugely from the combination of the traditional expertise of the Potter's team and the resources available through the Galenica structure.'
