The plant in Shanghai produces contrast media and medical technology products and is currently undergoing a review process to be the first US FDA-approved site for contrast media in China. Upon approval, the plant will be able to supply product beyond China to the US as well as numerous markets throughout the world.

Over the next five years, demand for contrast media in China alone is expected to see double-digit growth and so the company is making provisions for increased capacity.

Today, the Shanghai facility manufactures almost 5m units of X-Ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) products. The expansion of the facility over the next two years will increase capacity to 15m units.
