Glue inspectors

Denny Bros — the manufacturer of Fix-a-Form leaflet labels —has installed the UK's first system for inline spine gluing and line inspection of multi-page booklet labels.

hhs Gluing Systems provided a solution in the form of its high-speed non-contact Vario Glue adhesive application system and Glue Scan laser scanners. These monitor the surface profile of the adhesive on the sheet, detecting glue spots down to 1mm diameter and compares the glue line found with the programmed pattern.

If more than two missing spots are detected, the system will eject the faulty sheet.
