GSK AIDS agreement with Burundi

As part of better access to HIV/AIDS medicines, GSK has reached an agreement with the government of Burundi to ensure the long-term sustainable supply of quality drugs. The National AIDS programme in Burundi, has secured agreements with five pharmaceutical companies for Burundi to receive anti-retro viral drugs at heavily discounted prices. As part of the agreement, GSK is offering its Combivir product at a price of US$2 (e1.6) per day, which represents a 90% reduction on the average world price for the product.
