Commenting on the activist campaign against Huntington Life Sciences, GlaxoSmithKline's chairman, Sir Richard Sykes said, 'The recent campaign against HLS is of grave concern to GSK. It is totally unacceptable that any company conducting its legitimate business within the confines of the law can be undermined by a long-term campaign of violence, intimidation and harassment against employees and their families.'

Sykes confirmed that GSK will continue to work with HLS as long as it continues to meet the high standards of animal welfare and operates entirely in-line with Home Office requirements.
