Fast clean down is critical in tablet production and many of the systems available from IMA now feature clean- or wash-in-place systems.
The new Kilian Synthesis WIP, for example, is a tablet press with a wash-In-place system, In this unit, the process area is completely separated from the mechanical area through the use of Viton seals and silicon bellows. Spray nozzles are located in each part of the process area and also inside the aspiration system. This guarantees that all parts of the working area are washed and minimum water is required.
IMA's Comprima tablet press series is also fitted with similar clean-in-place system. In this system the powder is fed from a central hopper to the dies through specially shaped feeding channels, by means of the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the turret. This system guarantees yields up to 99.5% and improves powder feeding.
Maximum production speeds are possible, even with oblong or shaped tablets and a long compression time improves tablet quality even at high speeds.
Also available with clean-in-place systems is the continuous motion capsule filling machines of the company's IMATIC series. These models ensure maximum reliability and dosing precision even at high speed (up to 200,000 capsules/hr).
