Siemens named a manufacturing execution systems leader by IDC MarketScape

The MES provider's Opcenter won Siemens this title, as it can assist small to medium manufacturers in effectively co-ordinating their shop floor processes and supply chain

The Digital Industries Software offshoot of Siemens has been deemed an market leader in the IDC MarketScape Worldwide Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) 2024–2025 Vendor Assessment. 

The annual IDC MarketScape report intends to evaluate the quality of software providers in the MES market — specifically those serving the manufacturing sector. 

The software that placed Siemens in the "leader" category was Opcenter, a MES software designed to reduce the cost of manufacturing, as well as the financial burden on regional IT teams. 

It also allows small to medium manufacturing companies to effectively manage their products and processes, tighten up their supply chain and progress digitisation efforts.

Opcenter can also be integrated with solutions form the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, including:

  • Teamcenter (product lifecycle management)
  • Simcenter (simulation software)
  • Insights Hub (data analysis)
  • AX4 and Supply Chain Suite (supply chain management)
  • Tecnomatix (factory simulation)
