Inkjet printer offers quality coding
For those seeking quality coding that is affordable and requires minimal operator attention and maintenance, Videojet, from Corby, UK, has introduced the Videojet Marsh 320Si. This medium to large character industrial continuous inkjet (CIJ) digital printer employs technology that prints to a higher resolution for the same price as an average drop-on-demand (DOD) system.
The Marsh 320Si is able to deliver a 40dpi code at a speed of up to 60m/minute, which is said to be three times the dpi resolution of a DOD at the same speed. Microvalve technology allows the printer to print characters from 6mm to 24mm in height with up to two lines of text per printhead, and it can run both water-based and MEK inks. Printer control is via a colour touch screen with graphical user interface.
Videojet has been involved with laser technology for more than 10 years, and its range of Focus S-Series CO2 lasers has been enhanced with the introduction of the Focus S60 high speed steered beam laser coding system.
The Focus-S system also benefits from a new software platform developed by Sysmodix, and conformity to 21 CFR Part 11 regulations. The colour touchscreen allows simple operation, password protection, user activity and customised operator screens.
The system has the ability to capture all users' interactions with the system by a comprehensive password protection system. The information captured can then be exported to a secure location and viewed by the authorising body, such as the FDA, at a later date.
