JM expands HTS capacity
West Deptford, US-based Johnson Matthey has invested in new equipment to expand its in-house high throughput screening (HTS).
Its new ChemSpeed ASW2000, an automated synthesis workstation, and Argonaut Endeavor, a parallel pressurised reactor, will allow the company to screen for a range of reaction conditions.
The ChemSpeed can perform up to 80 reactions, and is used in conjunction with HPLC or GCMS, for a quicker response to customer requests.
The reactor gives JM the capability of running hydrogenations at pressures of >500 psi. The hydrogen uptake is individually monitored, and the result also gives information on the kinetics and chemical transformations involved.
