Schreiner MediPharm has developed special labels for low-temperature applications

Many pharmaceuticals, such as vaccines, tissue adhesives and blood products, need transporting and storing at low temperatures, but the cold can have a negative effect on the adhesive properties of the labels. As it is imperative that pharmaceutical products are labelled correctly, any label failure is a concern for pharma companies.

Schreiner MediPharm, of Oberschleissheim, Germany, has developed special labels for low-temperature applications. These labels can either be applied to frozen products or applied at room temperatures, followed by quick-freezing at a later time. Suitable bonding substrates are glass and aluminium-coated PET films.
