A detector upgrade for the Micro X-ray Computed Tomography allows the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical sector to obtain submicron resolution of internal features within solid dosage forms, without destroying the sample.

Micro X-ray Computed Tomography provides non-invasive imaging and analysis, 3D reconstruction, internal microstructure visualisation, content uniformity assessment and quantitative analysis of porosity, volume and coating thickness amongst other parameters.

The company, located in Nottingham, has just been awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Continuous Innovation and Development category in recognition of its contract research services.

It offers services such as: nanoscreening technology for predicting the ease of development of a new medicine; a deformulation service for identifying problems with a product down to the nanoscale; and advanced imaging for viewing and optimising the internal structure of products.
