As specialists in the design and manufacture of plastic pallets since 1967, Craemer has developed its first ever TC "Totally Closed" plastic pallet. The Craemer TC plastic pallet is truly a revolution in closed deck pallet design, engineered to provide new dimensions in durability and meet the highest hygiene demands of the food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

The new Craemer TC pallet offers a high level of strength and impact damage resistance due primarily to its material content and unique structural design.

Manufactured from a high quality HDPE virgin grade light blue material, with a honeycomb. shaped internal construction, this design provides for the optimum rigidity and strength with a long service life.

Combined with the unique welding process developed and patented by Craemer to seal the lower deck and rim areas, this ensures total integrity against the ingress of contaminants such as liquid and bacteria into the pallet structure. The flat, smooth outer surfaces can be easily cleaned manually or by pallet wash machine.

A revolution in closed pallet design

With its unique welding process, Craemer can claim the TC pallet to be "totally closed", to provide the ultimate hygienic pallet and eliminate any previous problems associated with "closed" plastic pallets.

Many closed deck pallets available on the market are flawed in design, with "seam" integrity being suspect and prone to being easily damaged. The position of the seam is crucial, as is the actual integrity of the weld that holds the two pieces of the pallet together. If too low, seams have been punctured or cracked due to heavy contact with the forks of a pallet truck.

If the two halves of the pallet are not 100% square when aligned, the weld will have "thin" spots that create areas of weakness that can easily fracture, allowing the ingress of dirt or liquids into the internal structure that can result in product contamination. Trapped liquid can also increase the tare weight of the pallet and if it becomes frozen, it can expand causing the pallet to crack, weakening the structure further and making the pallet totally unsuitable for use in high hygiene areas.

Totally closed deck pallets are often used in food processing areas, where chilled areas or cold stores are an integral part of the process, so they have to be able to perform consistently in these areas over a sustained period of time. As the cracks open further and the pallet is handled, it is possible that liquids or dirt could escape from the inner of the pallet to contaminate any material that they may come into contact with.

Craemer has invested in technology that can measure and analyse the condition of the weld and have subjected the TC pallet to a large number of in-house and independent tests, both in the tool design stage and also on the finished product, to back up performance statistics. A pressure test is also incorporated into the process to ensure that the pallets are all effectively air and water tight with no possibility of liquid ingress.

Putting our strength to the test

Craemer are so confident that the unique construction of the TC pallet it is prepared to supply sample pallets for demonstration and evaluation handling the customers own products.

The TC pallet has been designed to the typical Craemer quality, for the highest level of strength, impact resistance and durability. Offering high racking and dynamic load capacities, the standard 1200 x 1000mm TC plastic pallet from Craemer is available with 3 (TC3) or 5(TC5) runners that are chamfered on all approach edges for easy access and removal by hand and pallet truck forks.

Optional features enable pallets to be customised to meet individual handling and storage requirements and are available with or without rims in various heights.

The TC pallet complements the existing range of Craemer pallets, performing to a high standard in many demanding environments time after time. Full details of the new TC "Totally Closed" plastic pallet range are available on request or visit the website www.craemer.com
