A new family of chromatography products based on "Adsept" patented separation technology aims to offer improved performance for lab users.

Developed by Nysa Membrane Technologies, which recently changed its name to Natrix Separations, the technology combines high binding capacity, selectivity and specificity normally associated with resin-based chromatography with the high throughput and ease of use of traditional membrane products.

Natrix Separations, based in Ontario, Canada, is a supplier of single use and multi-cycle disposable chromatography products.

Its new name change reflects a company focus on providing customers with a range of separation solutions based on its novel microporous hydrogel composite technology.

Adsept's microporous structure provides a large surface area for binding and helps rapid mass transfer. This supports high flow rates and provides efficient capture of target molecules.

Lisa Crossley, president of Natrix Separations, said: "The technology will also enable highly selective chromatographic separations in many applications where no commercially viable separation process currently exists."
