New test rig assists validation process
Leading tablet and capsule blister feeder manufacturer Electro-mec (Reading) has installed a state-of-the-art test rig at its Reading factory to allow customers to carry out extensive pre-delivery validation tests, including efficiency trials.
The new rig is able to simulate accurately the web of the blister machine – including both continuous and intermittent motion – over which the company's EMF blister feeder will be installed. Detailed trials of speed, effectiveness of product placement and overall efficiency levels can therefore be carried out prior to installation to ensure each machine will pass its factory acceptance test. 'Efficiency is a vital part of a pharmaceutical company's validation process and our EMF range plays an important part in this,' explained Electro-mec's technical sales director, Ron Garwood.
