Newman Labelling Systems, supplier of specialist pharmaceutical labelling systems, has appointed Shaun Baker as its new Managing Director.
Baker brings experience in the pharmaceutical sector from engineering through to commercial aspects including sales and marketing.
Baker started his career in the tyre manufacturing machinery but soon switched to pharmaceuticals.
“Cutting corners is not an option in this industry. It’s genuinely challenging, as you need to deliver high quality engineering solutions into a clean, precise environment,” said Baker.
Baker joins Newman Labelling from Matcon, a specialist in IBC (Intermediate Bulk Containers) based solutions for handling and processing powders, granules and tablets.
Since joining Matcon in 1998 he has covered design engineering, operations, project management and various sales positions, through to his last post as Pharmaceutical Sales Director.
Baker is currently immersing himself in the business and is looking forward to attending Interpack in May, his first major show in his new role as Managing Director of Neman Labelling Systems.
“Interpack provides me with the ideal opportunity to meet with Newman’s many international customers and partners face to face, which is important to understand the perception of Newman Labelling on the ground,” said Baker.
Baker is Chairperson of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) Central Committee. He has an MBA through the Open University.
