Newman Labelling Systems, of Barnet, UK, displayed its recently launched 4VAL low cost tray to tray labelling system at the company stand.

A specialist pharmaceutical system, the 4VAL applies clear and paper self-adhesive labels - in excess of 200 containers per minute - to rigid cylindrical containers such as ampoules, vial syringes and cartridges.

The PPMA show was the site for the first UK appearance of the machine, which Newman says has 'seen great success overseas', citing the 'low capital outlay' and cGMP design as probable reasons for this.

The new system's standard features include stepper motor drive of the label web, straight label arm, a small number of change parts and hand wheel adjustment for rapid size changeover and interlocked guarding.

The company's stand also showcased Newman's new corporate image, featuring a stainless steel 'wave'.
