Drugmaker AstraZeneca has bought a Newman NV2 fully automatic, self-adhesive labelling system for its Clinical Trials Production Unit.

The NV2 has been introduced following the installation of a new label printing system, which is able to print reel fed, short edge leading labels. Up until now, labelling operations at the Unit were performed by hand, but automating the system has improved the accuracy and efficiency of the process.

The NV2 is a fully automatic, self-adhesive labelling system for cylindrical, flat, square and oval containers. It labels cartons from 10mm to 150mm in size with minimal change parts and has been supplied with a missing label detection system.
