Takes place from 21-23 February 2012

UBM Live, a division of UBM Plc, has announced details of the fifth annual PharmaSource Conference to be held from 21–23 February 2012 in Munich, Germany at the Hilton Munich City.

Organised by CPhI Conferences, the flagship PharmaSource event is focused on providing a programme to benefit those in the sourcing and procurement sectors by uncovering key market developments, the latest industry trends and strategies for establishing new products and services based on pharma industry demand.

The event features a speaker line-up of senior sourcing professionals from some of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, Merck, EMS Genericos, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Eli Lilly and Roche.

Specific topics to be addressed will include the discovery of opportunities in the supply of APIs, excipients and intermediates; the realities of establishing operations in South America, East Asia and Central Eastern Europe; understanding how to identify and establish long lasting partnerships, plus assessment of the current cost/benefit of sourcing and operating in India and China.

‘The PharmaSource Conference offers a unique platform that is specifically targeted towards building strategies for successful product sourcing, supply chain management and risk assurance. These are especially important areas of interest as the pharma market is fully embracing the benefits of a global sourcing structure and transitioning towards outsourcing to maximise capabilities,’ said Michael Payne, senior programme editor for CPhI Conferences.

‘This event truly offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn how to develop world-class procurement operations from some of the most experienced sourcing professionals in the industry.’

Through a combination of case studies, market analysis, regulatory insight and industry trends, the PharmaSource Conference allows attendees to maximise learning during the event. Many networking opportunities are also built into the programme. Specifically, each day features networking breaks with day one and two offering catered lunch networking sessions.

Last year’s attendees came from a variety of pharma companies including AstraZeneca, GSK, Lonza, BASF, Bayer HealthCare, Endo Pharmaceuticals, Evonik Degussa, GE Healthcare, Hospira, Janssen Pharmaceutica and Piramal Healthcare.
