Logistics specialist NYK is expanding its market presence with the launch of new warehousing operation in Moscow, Russia.


Logistics specialist NYK is expanding its market presence with the launch of new warehousing operation in Moscow, Russia.

The transportation company has signed a long-term contract with Russian developer Logo Group to rent a newly constructed class A, 13,500 m2 warehouse in the region of Pokrov.

The warehouse is scheduled to start operations in June and will serve NYK customers in several industries, most notably consumer electronics, which requires high warehousing standards as well as a fast and reliable distribution network to Moscow and other regions of Russia.

Managing Director of NYK Logistics (CIS), Mikhail Kholyavenko, said: "Opening of the Moscow warehouse is an important stepping stone towards development of full service portfolio in Russia. Over the last four years, NYK has been active in the Russian logistics market establishing reliable and efficient international transport, customs clearance and domestic distribution solutions within the automotive, retail and consumer electronics industries. The warehouse is only 10 km away from Moscow ring road (MKAD) on Simferopolskoye Highway, allowing easy access to Moscow consumers, virtually free of Moscow's traffic jams at all hours of the day.
