In the areas of product design and development of microfluidic devices

Two UK microfluidics experts, Dolomite and Epigem, are to collaborate on the design and manufacture of microfluidic devices offering customers more comprehensive solutions.

The firms will join forces in the areas of product design and development taking advantage of the specialist capabilities of each company. Royston, Hertfordshire-based Dolomite will carry out the design and hardware based activities, while Epigem, located in Redcar, North Yorkshire, will handle polymer process-based manufacturing.

Epigem, a polymer micro engineering company, develops and manufactures multifunctional microfluidic devices (especially for instrument OEMs) both in low and high volume, which Dolomite will distribute as part of its standard product range.

Epigem will also be able to access Dolomite’s ‘Productizing Science’ capabilities including system solutions, full instrument design and manufacture, and turnkey development, to offer customers a broader service.

Dolomite will use Epigem’s capabilities to offer bespoke devices for specific customer applications.
