Front runner in monodose containers

The Lameplast Group was created from a merger between Lameplast, a producer of plastic packaging for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, and COC Farmaceutici, which specialised in the preparation, filling and packaging of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. The group has formed a joint venture - LF of America - with World Pharmaceutical Management, a US company with experience in marketing, promotion, sales and distribution of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

LF of America's US-based production site offers overseas filling and packaging services for cosmetics and OTC products and its plant in Hollywood, Florida, was FDA approved on 1 April. The group uses the same stringent production guidelines for cosmetics as for pharmaceuticals, which it sees as an important trend, and a price differentiator for the cosmetic companies.

Lameplast was the first company to develop and mass-produce monodose containers for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. In addition to being personalisable, this the packaging guarantees purity and freshness. Furthermore, once opened, the design protects its contents from the risk of environmental contamination, thus increasing its efficacy and life.

These monodose or mini-containers come in a number of sizes from 0.33-10ml and are available either separately or in five-piece strips. Lameplast has designed a new dosing system that can be used in association with a rigid bottle to guarantee efficient dispensing also of pharmaceutical products that require containers in rigid materials such as glass. Suitable for use with any liquid or viscous product necessitating a constant dose, the system permits dispensing both calibrated drops for small doses of product (0.05 ml) and constant volumes for larger doses (0.5 ml). The dispenser can also be modified for different volumes of calibration and constant doses according to customer's needs.
