The two companies will collaborate on the supply of two softgel capsule products
The US-based company Impax Laboratories is to collaborate with Banner Pharmacaps on the supply and commercialisation of two softgel capsule products. The products and terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Located in High Point, North Carolina, Banner specialises in r&d and manufacturing of gelatin-based dosage forms and is building a portfolio of Rx and OTC products that utilise these innovative gelatin- and polymer-based technologies.
Headquartered in Hayward, California, Impax develops controlled-release and speciality generics and branded products. ‘We are excited to collaborate with Banner, a global leader in developing and manufacturing softgel products,’ said Larry Hsu, president and ceo of Impax Laboratories. ‘In less than a year, we have entered into four distinct partnerships for alternate dosage form products as we continue to execute our strategy of diversifying our product base.’
Roger E. Gordon, president and ceo of Banner Pharmacaps, added: ‘We are delighted to be joining forces with Impax, a speciality pharma company whose vision and goals so closely mirror those of Banner. They join our expanding list of partners who look to Banner to provide expertise in the development of gelatin-based drug delivery systems and unique technology platforms.’
