Also takes up less bench space in the lab

A new personal mini drybath from Rugby, UK-based Cleaver Scientific, which has a small footprint of 15 x 10cm, is small enough to fit in the palm of the hand and is suitable for use in laboratories where bench space is limited.

The microBLOCK, which features digital control in 0.1°C increments of temperatures ranging from ambient +5°C to 80°C, is accurate to within +/- 0.5°C.

Six interchangeable block configurations are available for 0.2mL PCR tubes and strips, as well as tubes of 0.5ml, 1.5ml, 2ml, 15ml and 50ml, to offer versatility for many different incubation and denaturation techniques.

A clear cover helps maintain block temperature uniformity within +/- 0.2°C, while the microBLOCK’s light weight of 1.8kg and optional 12V car battery adaptor facilitates easy and convenient use in the field. Also, due to its small size and minimal heating area, the microBLOCK uses less energy than larger dry block units.
