Bookings already at record levels, reflecting renewed economic optimism

More than half of the exhibitors at InformExUSA 2010, including Johnson Matthey, Saltigo, Dottikon, InCon Processing and Cherokee Pharma, have already rebooked for 2011, and many have reserved more space than this year, according to the exhibition organisers.

The show will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 7-10 February 2011 and will see the return of the Informex Gala Dinner. The original event, in 2008, featured Colin Powell as the keynote speaker and attracted more than 650 guests.

"While verified on-site attendance [in 2010] remained virtually identical to last year at around 3,500, there was a much stronger sense of optimism and confidence throughout the event," commented UBM/Informex Brand Director Jennifer Jessup. "Exhibitors reported big increases in walk-up traffic, deals were being made and projects pursued, whereas last year much activity was put on hold due to economic uncertainty."

Looking towards 2011, Jessup added: "The move to Charlotte is proving very popular and was designed to make the event more cost-effective and easier to travel to than San Francisco. Booth costs, material handling, electrical and labour costs are on average 40% less than they are in San Francisco, while hotel accommodation is around 25 % cheaper."
