Will pool cartooning and blister machine expertise

Oystar IWK, a German manufacturer of cartoning machines, has formed a partnership with MediSeal, a technological pioneer in the field of blister machines in which the two firms will together manufacture packaging lines for the high-performance pharmaceutical sector.

‘With this collaboration, we are pooling our resources and increasing our productivity,’ said Markus Ehl, ceo of Oystar Holding. ‘In future this will enable us to position ourselves more strongly in the market.’

MediSeal’s md Stephan Plewa added: ‘From a technical perspective, our high-performance blister machines can be greatly enhanced by Oystar IWK’s continuous motion cartoner. This will enable us to offer our customers an ideal high-speed blister solution.’

MediSeal’s CP600 and CP1200 blister machines have undergone continual redevelopment during the last 10 years. They can be combined with the Oystar IWK continuous motion cartoners to produce products at speeds of 600 blister packs or 450 cartons a minute.

‘There is also high customer demand for the CP400 to be combined with the SC 4 continuous motion cartoner,’ said Plewa. ‘A line such as this is particularly well suited for a stacking solution, with just one blister pack per folding box and can produce and carton 400 blister packs a minute.’

Oystar IWK is a division of the Oystar Group, which produces cartoning machines, tube filling machines and complete packaging lines for sale worldwide. The product portfolio focuses on applications for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry.

As a pioneer in blister, sachet and stick-pack packaging, MediSeal is part of the Körber Medipak Group, a provider of packaging and inspection technology systems for the pharmaceutical industry.
