The pharmaceutical supply industry will be out in force at Total Processing & Packaging 2004. The amalgamation of Interphex into Total has been greeted positively by suppliers to the pharmaceutical industry with specialist companies, including Brecon Pharmaceutical, Christ-Kennicott Water Technology, Entegris, Epsilon Pharma Services, Freestead Process Technology, Getinge, Pharmatec Procip, Pharmatech Solutions, Matcon, NovAseptic, Sauter, Steris and Ytron Quadro congregating in Hall 1.

Central to plans for Hall 1 is the Total Pharma Centre of Excellence, sponsored by MY Healthcare, the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the Pharma Chem group of the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association, and Manufacturing Chemist and Cleanroom Technology.

'Innovation is the means by which we differentiate ourselves and by sponsoring the Total Pharma Centre of Excellence we will be creating value added opportunities for both current and future customers,' explained Malcolm Ward, managing director, MY Healthcare.

A seminar and workshop programme will examine the increasing regulation of the food and pharma sector, as well as issues confronting markets for packaging materials and containers, and packaging and processing machinery.

'Bringing four shows together under one roof offers us a great way of meeting a full range of potential customers,' affirmed David Selwyn, marketing manager of control and instrumentation specialist Burkert Fluid Control Systems.
