Ti02-free coating platform for EU tablet producers

Published: 9-Feb-2022

Vivacoat free has been launched to help manufacturers formulate products without titanium dioxide

Vivacoat free is a titanium dioxide-free ready-to-use tablet coating from JRS Pharma.

Following an investigation by the European Food Safety Authority, titanium dioxide has been deemed "not safe" for use as a food additive, and will be banned in the EU in 2022, with regulations expected to follow in other regions. Vivacoat free can be used to replace coatings containing Ti02, with custom options for both white and dark tablet cores.

The coating is designed to offer high opacity across the colour spectrum, and is suitable for both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products.
