Britest has strengthened its technology team with the appointment of Ian Houson as innovation manager. Houson joins the Britest team from NPIL Pharma UK (an existing Britest Member company), where he was chemistry process development manager. He brings experience in chemistry & physical organic chemistry to complement the existing chemical engineering skills of the organisation's technology team.
Kay O'Donnell has been appointed as the new md of RSSL, and will take over the role at the end of July. O'Donnell joined RSSL in 2005 and will now spearhead the company's continued investment and expansion in the food, drink and pharmaceutical markets. Further senior appointments accompany O'Donnell's promotion, with Tracey Gale being promoted to general manager, where she will have additional responsibilities for business development & quality. Gale joined RSSL in 1994, rising to the position of finance director.
Ludwig Schneider, who joined powder characterisation company Freeman Technology in late 2006, has taken up the role of applications specialist at the firm, and will focus on supporting customers in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France. He is one of a number of new appointments made by the company in recent months, reflecting continued sales growth in Europe, the USA and Japan.
German process firm Ekato is looking to increase its UK presence with the appointment of industry expert John Smith as UK director and the opening of a new UK office.
Chris Lindley-Smith has been appointed as european sales manager for Newman Labelling Systems. Lindley-Smith joins Newman from UK distributor Partners in Packaging where he was UK Sales Manager responsible for a specific product line of labelling machines, and has worked in the packaging industry for seven years in total. Lindley-Smith will concentrate on the UK and Ireland, establishing contact with Newman's customer base and building on it. He will also be responsible for growing sales in Western Europe.
