The pharmaceutical manufacturing sector is remarkable not only for its complexity but also for the speed at which it changes. At Manufacturing Chemist our aim has always been to bring you information about the latest developments both in print and online. As we go into 2013, we have made some changes to reflect the changing dynamics of the pharma industry.

‘Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights.’ – Pauline R Kezer, former Secretary of the State of Connecticut.

The pharmaceutical manufacturing sector is remarkable not only for its complexity but also for the speed at which it changes. The increasing influence of the ‘pharmerging’ countries, the rise in biologicals and the decline in small molecule drugs, not to mention the opportunities presented by personalised and regenerative medicine and cell therapies, are all factors that have come to the fore in the market and have radically changed the face of the pharmaceutical sector.

At Manufacturing Chemist our aim has always been to bring you information about the latest developments both in print and online. As we go into 2013, we have made some changes to reflect the changing dynamics of the pharma industry.

Each month there will be a series of articles on a specific sector of the market, beginning in January with ingredients, including an overview of trends and developments, technical papers and related news. As well as these articles, which carry the Focus on Pharma logo and can be found in the Articles section of the website, we will continue to bring you a wide variety of news and comment from across the industry, including a regular report from Asia, in-depth articles on the latest technologies and interviews with top industry figures who will put industry events in context and give their personal perspective on what the future may hold.
