Oystar Huettlin has introduced the next generation of disk jet, a technology used in the fluid bed process. This special gas distributor plate, within which solids are fluidised through the inflow of process gas, now offers even higher wall speeds and better mixing properties. The result is homogenous fluidisation and an even coating thickness when the product is coated.
The company has also added an improved version of its Mycromix high-shear mixing granulator. Combined with Mycrolab or Unilab, the Mycromix offers gentle-wing technology, batch data recording, as well as impeller speed and torque measurements.
The company has also set a new milestone with the shaft seal in the base of the HBG (a high-shear mixing granulator with under floor drive. The design of the seal and the fact that it is continuously flushed means that the impeller does not need to be lifted or moved for cleaning validation. The sealing cartridge, comprising a double-acting lip seal and wiper, has the same mounting dimensions as the optional mechanical seal, making it easy to replace. It meets all GMP requirements and pharmaceutical environment standards. All of the supply cables and electrical connections are on the inside, allowing for simple cleaning. The lifting mechanism of the container lid is raised vertically, which means the usual problems of the process area becoming soiled when the lid is opened are kept to a minimum.
