Alan Isaacs, founder and architect of Doyen Medipharm, has retired after almost 14 years at the head of the group. Since its beginning in 1991, Isaacs set out to position Doyen as a leading specialist in converting process machinery to the medical and pharmaceutical and as an industry supplier of packaging. Under his guidance the company has grown into a global business and a leading industry player, with operations in the UK, US and Malaysia.

Compressor manufacturer Jun-Air has appointed Carl Joynes sales manager for the North of England and Scotland. He has 17 years' sales experience with a leading compressed air distributor, and will be responsible for sales through key accounts and the Jun-Air distribution network. His appointment will help the company meet a growing demand for clean, dry compressed air from combustors in the dental, laboratory and industrial markets.

Anthony Baxter has become ceo at deltaDOT, an innovator in real time biomolecular screening. With more than 21 years' experience in management and research within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, Baxter has been instrumental in the development of marketed drugs such as Lotroned, Abacavir and Lamivudine, and in the discovery of clinical development candidates for a number of companies, including GSK.

Rapra Technology has appointed Phil Rabone to the position of business development manager, where he will be responsible for the growth and development of its services and consultancy for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry.

ImVisioN has appointed Dr Martin Steiner as its ceo. He will lead the company alongside chief operating officer Prof Horst Rose, who led the company's spin-off from BioVisioN.

Bigneat Containment Technology has appointed James Stirling to the role of sales manager for south-east England. He will be responsible for sales, customer support and project liaison for the company's portfolio of equipment, which revolves around carbon and HEPA recirculatory filtration enclosures and fume extraction systems for personnel and product protection.

Dr Suraj Baloda and Eric Rudolph have been appointed group manager for process microbiology and sterile applications, and director of strategic planning and business development to PDA's Training and Research Institute Advisory Board, respectively.
