The latest generation of HAPI's (highly active potent ingredients) are pushing OEL requirements to ever lower levels and the new 200mm ChargePoint Vortex System has been proven to achieve an OEL performance of <1µg/m3 over real operation time.
The system achieves a tenfold increase in containment by vortex cleaning the valve before uncoupling is completed. An O-Ring on the passive unit ensures that powder cannot escape to atmosphere during operation or vortex cleaning cycle.
The Vortex cleaning cycle involves simultaneous extraction and pulsed jet tangential entry of air or gas into a small opening between the active and passive discs which creates a centrifugal effect and allows all loose particulates of airborne dust material to be extracted out of the valve chamber and fed directly through exhaust pipeline to a HEPA filter housing.
Safety interlocks ensure that the operator cannot undock the valve unless the vortex cleaning cycle has been completed. Once the vortex cleaning cycle has been completed the system allows the valve to be fully undocked.
The PSL ChargePoint Vortex System comes complete with a user-friendly pneumatic control panel, which can be used in all pharmaceutical areas.
