Rheometer designed for QA/QC applications

Bohlin Instruments has launched an advanced rheometer designed specifically for QC and QA testing. The CVO100 is said to incorporate many of the features of the company's research grade instruments, but at an entry-level price.

For the majority of applications, the CVO100 is available with a Peltier temperature controller that offers fast, compact and accurate control for either coaxial cylinder or cone and plate measurement techniques.

Another standard feature is the automatic gap setting, which enables measurement gaps on cone-plate systems to be set with a precision better than 1µm and allows test samples to be introduced at predefined loading conditions. The CVO100 also has a dual operation motor assembly that can operate as set shear rates or in controlled stress mode.

The operating software incorporates protocols for 'single click' multi-test operation with auto analysis routines, together with flow and temperature profile modes, allowing flow tests and thermal cycles to be constructed from a few simple icon controls.
