Sample changer improves precision
Improved precision, accuracy and productivity are the benefits claimed by Leicester-based Mettler Toledo for Rondolino, its new sample changer for automated titration. It offers fully automatic handling of up to nine samples, eliminating the need for routine manual work for laboratory analysts.
Particular emphasis has been placed on rinsing and conditioning to prevent carryover between samples, the company says, while calibration of electrodes, standardisation of titrants and the analysis of multiple samples can be done at the flick of a keystroke.
Mettler Toledo has also launched Refracto, a portable refractometer which forms part of its PortableLab range. It can be used as a hand-held or bench-top unit and can be operated single-handed by either left or right-handed users.
The instrument can be placed on a flat surface and a drop of sample added onto the measurement cell, or the cell can be dipped straight into the sample. Results are obtained in seconds and are available in a wide range of units with automatic temperature compensation.
