Select Biosciences has announced the winners of the Life Science Awards.
The awards took place prior to the first European Lab Automation (ELA) conference and exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, and were dedicated to life science automation.
The finalists were nominated for awards in seven scientific and commercial categories.
Leading figures from industry and academia, many of whom were keynote speakers in one of the ten conference streams at the ELA event, judged the entries.
The seven categories and winners were:
- Most Innovative New Product – PacBio RS from Pacific Biosciences
- Business Leader of the Year – Dr Janet Wolfe, chief executive, Wolfe Laboratories
- Most Effective Marketing Campaign –Barracuda product launch by IonWorks
- Most Innovative New Service – Cellectis Bioresearch, Transcription Activator-Like Effective Nucleases (TALENS)
- Best New Company – Redd & Whyte, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK
- Research Group of the Year – Phyton Biotech, Ahrensburg, Germany
- Investigator of the Year – Professor Naomi Chayen, Imperial College London.
