Its Gothenburg facility now has a manufacturing lab that can produce customised molecular biology products such as PCR and qPCR enzymes

Takara Bio Europe has expanded its Gothenburg facility with a novel custom manufacturing laboratory.

The building, which was deemed fully operational on October 1, will serve the needs of researchers, diagnostic labs and biotechs across the EMEA region.

According to Takara, the lab is capable of producing up to 600,000 reactions per week.

From this recent addition to the Gothenburg facility, Takara Bio now offers a wide array of customised molecular biology products.

This includes both PCR and qPCR enzymes — as well as SMART cDNA synthesis kits, stem cells and their associated reagents, RT enzymes, gene editing tools and fluorescent proteins.

With the expansion of Takara's capabillities, customers will be able to access a personalised service and technical expertise, as well as faster deliveries.

The extension will also allow European customers to reduce the carbon emissions associated with their research materials, allowing them to better meet their sustainability targets.

Takara Bio Europe's Site Head, Kristina Runeberg, commented: "This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver custom solutions with increased flexibility and faster turnaround times,"

"By producing closer to our customers, we can better meet their needs while reducing our carbon footprint."
