Thermo Fisher Scientific has simplified access to its chromatography and mass spectrometry products in Russia, following consumer demand. The Russia-based team will support customers through an instrument’s lifecycle, during installation and for any potential maintenance needs, to minimise instrument downtime.
“Our chromatography and mass spectrometry solutions are used worldwide in many different applications, whether it is in biopharmaceutical facilities, water and soil testing sites or clinical research, toxicology and anti-doping,” said Peter Schüßler, VP, EMEA sales and global channel management, chromatography and mass spectrometry, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “This offering not only reflects our commitment and response to customer demand and satisfaction; it also places us as the sole global scientific provider of analytical testing solutions selling directly in Russia.”
The change also provides customers in Russia with a connection to the wider customer community for peer-to-peer support, the company says. Scientists from fields including pharmaceutical R&D, food testing and academic facilities will be able to access the company’s instruments and workflow solutions for analytical purposes.
Alexander Makarov, Director, Global Research, Life Science Mass Spectrometry, Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: “When collaborating with academic groups in Russia, we were frequently made aware of the complicated and slow nature of customer support in the absence of direct Thermo Fisher representation in the country. I am pleased to see this implementation of a local team to build direct access to customers and provide a unique opportunity to support this developing market.”
“Our company acquired equipment necessary for the production of oligonucleotides and diagnostic test systems direct through Thermo Fisher Scientific,” said Igor Ryabov, CEO, JSC Institute of Genetic Technology (IGTECH). “We were pleased with the technical support, the speed of response and the quality of service.”
