A shell and plate heat exchanger developed by UK company Tranter International AB for processes involving batch reactors with one or more organic solvents is claimed to be an attractive optimisation strategy for pharmaceuticals and chemical process industries.
The SUPERMAX Shell & Plate Heat Exchanger is claimed to offer cost and time-savings, improved performance and efficiency and provides users with a smaller footprint and easier maintenance.
Reactors with SUPERMAX units can have shorter vaporisation/condensation cycle time than S&T units, which can raise plant capacity. Plus SUPERMAX, with its smaller hold-up volume, can heat jacketed reactors to the setpoint faster, conserve costly heat transfer fluids and control reaction temperature more precisely.
A removable core option is also available, which further simplifies access and provides a higher degree of cleanability.
