TriPath Imaging awarded 5-year health contract in Liverpool

TriPath Imaging, of Burlington, NC, has been awarded a five-year contract to supply Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority with its SurePath liquid-based Pap test.


TriPath Imaging, of Burlington, NC, has been awarded a five-year contract to supply Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority with its SurePath liquid-based Pap test.

The SurePath liquid-based Pap test is expected to be utilised in excess of 90% of the Authority's total annual cervical cancer screening requirements. The SurePath solution will be supplied by Medical Solutions, a cancer and pathology services group that serves as TriPath Imaging's licensed distributor in the UK.

'We are delighted to be working with Medical Solutions and using the SurePath liquid-based Pap test and anticipate that the adoption of this technology will result in significant improvements to cervical screening in this area,' said Dr Lesley Turnbull, regional director of quality assurance, North West Cervical Screening Region, NHS.
