Trinity Pharmaceuticals has brought out Cardioplen XL. The 5mg and 10mg tablets contain the class II calcium antagonist felodipine.

Almus has made available 75mg tablets and 25mg capsules of the tricyclic antidepressant dosulepin hydrochloride (previously called dothiepin). The company has also brought out 10mg, 20mg and 40mg tablets of the statin prava-statin sodium.

LPC Pharmaceuticals has launched 200mg tablets of the folic acid inhibitor trimethoprim.

Denfleet Pharmaceuticals has started marketing Denzapine, containing 25mg or 100mg of the dibenzo-diazepine clozapine.

Sandoz has introduced Acnocin (co-cyprindiol). The tablets contain 2000µg of the antiandrogen cyproterone acetate and 35µg of the oestrogen ethinyl-oestradiol.

Almus Pharmaceuticals has launched 2mg, 5mg and 10mg tablets of the benzodiazepine diazepam.

Nycomed has made available TachoSil medicated sponge. The product contains human fibrinogen 5.5mg/cm2 and human thrombin 2 IU/cm2.

Beacon Pharmaceuticals has marketed gentamicin intrathecal solution for injection, containing 5mg/mL of the aminoglycoside gentamicin.

Novartis has introduced Glivec tablets containing 100mg of the Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase inhibitor imatinib. The company has also manufactured Myfortic tablets containing 180mg or 360mg of the immunosuppressant mycophenolic acid, as mycophenolate sodium.

Sandoz has brought out 100mg capsules of the triazole antifungal itraconazole.

Pfizer has made available Lyrica capsules to the primary care market (previously they were only available through hospitals). The capsules contain 25mg, 75mg, 150mg or 300mg (56 capsule pack) or 25mg, 50mg, 100mg or 200mg (84 capsule pack) of the GABA analogue pregabalin.
