US-based Aptuit acquires clinical trial material supplier Almedica

Connecticut, USA-based Aptuit has acquired Almedica International, a supplier of clinical trial materials with operations in New Jersey, USA and Deeside, UK.


Connecticut, USA-based Aptuit has acquired Almedica International, a supplier of clinical trial materials with operations in New Jersey, USA and Deeside, UK.

The purchase makes Aptuit the largest capacity global provider of clinical packaging and logistics services. The company now offers a complete suite of drug development services that includes regulatory and strategic consulting, informatics, preclinical technologies, drug substance and drug product development, as well as clinical trial materials.

Aptuit customers will now have access to centrally-managed resources from five GMP global packaging and logistics facilities, with over 30 primary and over 50 secondary packaging suites. Aptuit says it will invest US$60m in the combined business over the next three years.
