The WFI-Flex power control from Christ Aqua Pharma & Biotech is for all multi-stage systems, with operation possible in a range from 10-100% at maximum load.

The power is increased or decreased as a function of the level in the tank, which means the number of on-off switching cycles can be minimised. The system is always running at optimal levels - with improved energy efficiency and a simultaneous reduction of media and heating steam.

With a system such as Christ Aqua's Multitron, with a capacity of 15m3 per hour, by dispensing with just four start-up and shutdown processes per day a six-figure sum per year can be saved very quickly, the company says.

In addition, the company has redesigned its distillation system for WFI production and now offers it with an increased capacity range of up to 17m3 per hour. Thus it is no problem to produce even very large quantities economically using the proven natural circulation method and the new control.

Christ Aqua Pharma & Biotech was formed in September 2009 when Best Water Technology Group (BWT) acquired the pharmaceutical water activities of the Christ Water Technology Group and a 49% stake in the biotechnology business Zeta Group. Henrik Forslund heads the company, which employs 200 people.

"Customers can now benefit from Christ Aqua's proven turnkey approach on the one hand, and from the expertise of BWT as a global technology leader as well as the security of a solid company on the other," said Forsland.
