Yusen Logistics has expanded its collaborative network servicing final mile distribution requirements across Europe and beyond within the healthcare sector.
The expanded service manages in-market supply to end users – hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, wholesalers, vaccination centres. It is initially covering eight European countries: Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, Belgium, with Poland expected to follow later this year.
Yusen says healthcare manufacturers are increasingly searching for end-to-end solutions to move their products through the supply chain, while maintaining stringent temperature control at all times. Maximising availability of stock, while minimising risk in the supply chain are driving the growing demand.
This service is dedicated solely to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and has more than 50,000 delivery points. The company currently makes 20,000 deliveries each week across 36 countries.
Yusen Logistics General Manager Healthcare, Matthew Ray says: 'This innovation gives Yusen a unique position across the pharmaceutical supply chain, offering a complete end-to-end service from raw material to patients across the whole of Europe.
'Yusen’s European Pharmaceutical Superhighway is already contracted to carry more than 1.6 million pallets this year. and growth is set to continue.'
